The year is almost over, those are exciting news, but a lot of people don’t feel all that excited yet because we still have some ±50 days to go. This can be seen in the lack of motivation and energy, tiredness, lack of energy, late coming and so forth that staff members typically display around this time of the year. It doesn’t only affect employees in the call center industry, but in all other industries alike. The truth is people get tired and worn out, but that does not mean there is nothing managers can do to help keep teams motivated even when the going gets tough. At Outworx, we have found the winning recipe to help keep our call center staff motivated, even during challenging times. Read on, you might pick up a tip or two to help motivate your people.
Spice it up!
Consider introducing a tradition for the last two to three months of the year, such as having a cake sale or even a bake off on Fridays. This will be something to look forward to and will give people something to look forward to t the end of the week. If you run bigger organisation, you can even have a departmental face-off.
Introduce new and exciting incentives
Okay, you may have had a long-standing legion of incentives for staff to obtain after meeting their targets. Switch it up. Ask the sales team, for example, what they would like to receive as a prize for being best sales person for the last quarter for the year, maybe a weekend-away or even a camera to capture all the wonderful moments they will have during the December break.
Organise a year-end function. But instead of having the normal braai and a couple of drinks; go all out, maybe even have a small awards evening and give out awards for the highest achiever, and even awards for the best dressed and funnyman of the year. You can be as creative as you would like.
Motivating staff with these small activities will give them something to look forward to on a weekly basis. Enthusiasm will increase and you will be more likely to have more productive team.
